My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Danny Boy is an adorable young Beagle. After a tragic accident Danny unfortunately had to lose his leg but he is up-and-at-em again now and ready to tackle the rest of his life as a tri-pod. He does not need any special care and does just fine on three legs. He is an affectionate, and playful young boy who loves everyone. He is approximately a year and a half old and weighs 23 lbs.

Danny's rescue and medical treatment was sponsored by Stephen Podetz as a birthday present to his mom.

Here is what his foster family had to say:

Danny is a total sweetheart!! Although he did lose his leg, he has adjusted well and continues to grow stronger and more stable every day. He is social with everyone and is very submissive in nature. Danny can be a bit shy but warms up very quickly. He gets along very well with both cats and dogs.

Danny is very attentive and responds quickly. He loves treats which motivate him even more. He is completely house trained and crate trained. His energy level is moderate at this time. He is currently walking 15 minutes 2 times a day. He is a very quiet boy. Loud noises make him uneasy. Danny needs a family who will continue with his training to become a perfect family member. He loves car rides and is a pleasure to take anywhere you go.

Danny needs and craves being with people. His forever home should be with people who have plenty of time to spend with him. A home with no steps or very few steps would be best as he has a harder time maneuvering them. Carpets or runners are important as its easier on his legs and helps him be more stable. Children over the age of 8 would be best as very young children could be a safety hazard to him. Danny will need to be walked everyday to help keep him slim and mentally healthy.

If you would like to make this adorable little guy part of your family, please submit an application for consideration.
