Sweet as an Apple Dumpling
Hiya, I’m Apple Dumpling. But you can call me Apple (as in the Apple of your eye). I have spots all over me just like an Appaloosa horse and I’m a roly-poly bundle of puppy fun which I guess is how I got my new name. I had a pretty rough start in life, but boy-oh-boy am I discovering just how much fun life can be for a bully baby. Thankfully these really nice people came to get me out of a horrible place and now I am living it up. Yep, I’m a 6 month old bully princess that was rescued from a puppy mill. Can you believe that? And boy am I happy I’m out of that place!
Did anyone say toys??? I can’t get enough of them. I love to run and jump and throw them around and my foster mom says I must have some retriever in me because I bring them right back so she can throw them again. I get so excited sometimes I just jump for joy and have to stop in the middle of play to give lots and lots of kisses. The only thing better than toys and kisses is food. The best time of day is breakfast and dinner. I squeal like a little piggy when I hear my food being prepared. And then I do my happy happy dance to show just how much fun suppertime is.
My foster mom says that I’m one smart cookie (yum cookies) whatever she means by that. I guess it’s because I learned really really fast that potty is something I do outside when she says “go potty”. Well, that was pretty easy. I’m a lady after all and I really like my new clean bed and blankets and I want to keep them nice. I also learned that if I put my bottom down when she says “sit” it makes her smile and then she gives me a cookie. Gee, she should come up with harder things than that.
At first I was kind of scared when I got here because everything was so new, but I’m getting the hang of things and learning about new stuff every day. I heard my foster mom say that I’m a mouthy puppy, but heck everything is so exciting and sometimes I just forget, but I’ll keep working on that. I’m really good about going in my crate when it’s time to get some rest. I may cry just a tiny bit at first, but then I just relax and take a nice snooze.
My eye used to hurt me really bad and foster mom said I had an ulcer and a cherry in my eye (doesn’t that sound crazy). But anyway, she took me to the vet and now my eye is all fixed up and I’m feeling sooooo good now.
My perfect home would be one where someone has lots of time to spend with me. I love to play play play all the time and I have tons of puppy energy. I LOVE everyone that I meet and I want to play with every dog I see. After all, life is too good now not to enjoy it right?
