A Dignified Name for A Special Boy
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. -- Abraham Lincoln
This is what I am looking forward to…. a new bright future. Hello out there in the land of CEBR, my name is Lincoln. My name will represent who I am and who I will become in my new extraordinary journey. My journey started out in a land of sadness and great despair, until a group of terrific people showed me freedom. You see I was living in a puppy mill and was rescued along with 25 other dogs who were living in equally horrific breeding conditions.
I was brought to freedom in the land of Illinois (Land of Lincoln). Once I was rescued, I was given the honor of my new name by a boy who endured his own battle to conquer cancer. He gave me a name of a person who changed history. I may not be that great and change history but I will give it my all to change the lives of my new family. And that’s how my story starts….
In my first few weeks in rescue I had some medical issues that needed to be managed, but don’t worry they aren’t stopping me. I’m a 4 year old boy with the energy of a puppy. I’m learning how to play and it’s the bomb. There are so many new toys that I can’t choose which one to play with first. I love people….did I mention I love people? I get so excited to see people that I wiggle my butt so much it knocks me off balance. At first I was nervous to be touched but once I got used to it, I can’t get enough of it. I will crawl in your lap or jump on you so you won’t stop. I was told if I want to be a man of class, I need to work on my gentlemanly skills. Regarding my skills, I mastered the skills of properly being groomed but I’m still having difficulty with my understanding of going potty outside. I know I will master this and I’m trying really hard but I do have accidents. It’s all about step by step, day by day. Learning and growing is what life is about, I just need a new family to be willing to work with me.
Speaking of my new family…. I would love a family big or small. Having a furry friend will be so much fun but I can do without them too. I will adjust to whatever path is chosen for me. I just can’t wait for my new beginning and to show what this Lincoln can do.
I am up to date on my vaccines, microchipped and neutered. I am also in good health now and ready for my forever home. Give me a chance, I won’t let you down!

NOTE FROM THE HUMANS
Lincoln’s adoption fee is $575. Our adoption criteria for Lincoln are as follows:
- CEBR Adoption Radius Only.
- An adopter that understands his potty training issues and is willing to work with him to get him on the right track – perhaps someone who works from home would be best.
- He would do well with or without other dogs in the home, but having a dog that is well potty trained will help him learn more quickly.
