Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Is Wes not the handsomest fellow you've ever seen? He has just come to us from a shelter in Kentucky. He endured the long, ugly transport in a crate for 13 hours, got off and greeted everyone like he was fresh from a shower and shave! Below are the photos of him greeting his new foster mom not a half hour after transport. This is one HAPPY beagle! Beagle perfect in every way, from his stunning good looks to his "merry little hound" personality, the shelter named him Westminster because they thought he represented the breed well enough to win the medal at the Westminster Dog Show.
Unfortunately, his former owners weren't real impressed with his qualifications. They couldn't be bothered with heartworm preventative. You guessed it.... Wes is heartworm positive. We want to give him a week or so to settle into his new foster home before beginning treatment, but we could sure use donations toward the vet bills.
Wes will not be available for adoption until he is declared heartworm negative. It'll take a couple of months. Stay tuned.
