Meet Storm - She is a sweet girl who likes to follow humans around. She will nudge you for attention and will make a great snuggler. She gives you puppy dog eyes and just wants some love. She will give it back two fold. She is a bit shy but will engage some dogs to play. Cinder will stare longingly outside his kennel to the humans. She likes to roll in the grass. He tail wags so hard that her whole back end wags too. She will sit/lay down on command sometimes. She is food motivated so teaching him new tricks should be easier with a treat reward. Cinder will make a great family pet. She likes kids, other dogs and even cats. She was given up by his owner when they couldn't find her a home along with her brother Storm. They had an accidental litter of puppies from their Border Collie and Lab. There were children in the home and Cinder is said to be absolutely terrific with them. She would also make a senior a great companion. Does Cinder sound like he could be part of your family? She would love a forever home where she knows he is loved!

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
