Patrick's Story...
Breed: Shorthair guinea pig Size: Large size male Color: Silver agouti and white DOB: About a year and a half so 7/2012. Reason in rescue:Apparently the person that had Patrick and Anne were breeding them. Unfortunately, we think they are very closely related, possibly brother and sister. When she started producing stillborn babies (big surprise), they gave them up. Personality:Patrick is a big snuggly sweetie pie. A little nervous initially, once you get him he's very friendly and outgoing and loves attention. He's very curious and LOVES treats, so he'll be an easy guinea pig to bribe :) His feet were filthy when they got here and he's pretty stained, but otherwise he's in good health. Special Needs: None! Friends: We will be neutering Patrick on 1/21, so after a 6 week grace period to make sure no swimmers survived, he should be able to bonded to another guinea pig, no problem. Requirements: Must be adopted as an indoor animal, with an as large as possible plastic bottomed cage . Adoption process: An adoption application must be filled out (email for the application), and approved by us. Then we will arrange a meeting time to see the animal of interest. Suggested adoption donation is $20 for a single, $35 for a pair of piggies, and $50 for 3. **Please email if you are interested in adoption. We respond to all emails within 24 hours**

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Patrick, a Edinburg Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Edinburg, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Edinburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edinburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edinburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edinburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
