BEAR's Story...
This puppy arrived on January 18th weighing in at 27 pounds at 4 months old. He is a total mush! He jumped right into the car and he gave kisses the whole way home. He loved playing in the snow when he got into the back yard. When introduced to my lab it was a total love fest. They ran, played and rolled in the snow for about 45 minutes. His tail was wagging the whole time. He was a good little pup and did his business outside before coming inside. It was so cute-he came inside and he prances throughout the house. I put him in his crate after he explores a bit. At first he didn't want to go in barking a few times, but he quickly settled down and fell asleep. His fur is all poof! It's so soft and smooth it feels like he is a fleece blanket. Right now he is laying with the other dogs on the floor asleep. My kids are in love with him. Loves to be pet and loves having his belly rubbed. What a love bug!

UPDATE: Bear was a perfect gentleman during the night. He woke up with his tail wagging and giving lots of kisses. No accidents during the night. He ran outside with my other 2 dogs having fun in the snow. Came inside and took a good nap! No accidents in the house. I took him visiting with me today. He is such a good boy, he just laid down in the car and just hung out! He was happy to meet everyone. He is getting used to the leash. He has no problems going down the porch stairs but does not like my inside ones-but they are hardwood. He did want to be lifted into the car. He did not bark at all throughout the day. Very well behaved. He is neutered, had a shot, rabies shot etc. To see additional photos please see our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/sheryls.den To see all of our adoptable pets see www.sherylsden.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BEAR, a West Milford Flat-Coated Retriever/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever/Labrador Retriever for sale in West Milford, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in West Milford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Milford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Milford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Milford paves the way for another one to be saved.
