I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and not good with dogs.
Lucky is a one year old male German Shepherd mix. He was found stray outside of Austin and came to our Shelter when no owner could be located. His body size is smaller than that of a purebred German Shep or a full-sized Lab, so we’re not exactly sure what other breed mix might be in his genes.
Lucky has done really well with the different volunteers and visitors that came and go from the Shelter. He’s a bit stressed when meeting other dogs, so we are hoping that is a function of the anxiety of the Shelter and not necessarily a permanent personality trait of Lucky. As we mentioned, he was found running loose and has no battle scars or any indication that he might have been in skirmish, so that’s a good sign. Lucky keeps his kennel pen clean at our Shelter which is a positive indicator for being potentially housetrained. We have no idea how he would do with cats and no way of finding that out. He is about 50 pounds right now and is full grown. Lucky is neutered and up to date with all vaccinations. His adoption fee is $125. We utilize a short adoption application form to assess compatibility between dogs and their prospective homes. This form is a simple one-sided Microsoft Word document and it can be e-mailed to you upon request. If you would like to receive the form via e-mail, or if you have any other questions, please send us an e-mail message.
Our Shelter is open to the public for animal viewing on Sundays from 2PM to 4PM and on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM. The Shelter building is located at 101 22nd Street SE in Austin, Minnesota. This is at the farthest east point of Oakland Avenue East in Austin, just to the east of Charter Communications.
