Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Trixie is adorable. Energetic and sweet, she is up for anything and just so full of joy for life that it overflows. We are fairly certain she is a Beagle mixed with Australian Shepherd, but there could even be Pug and Yellow Lab thrown in there for good measure.
The shelter thought Trixie is a year old, though we feel she may be younger than that. She is between 40 - 45 pounds and is right between the height of a Beagle and that of an Australian Shepherd. She gets along with all the dogs, big and small, in her foster home. As for cats, she most likely wouldn't hurt one but might have fun chasing it if it ran.
Trixie does well in a car, and though she had to get used to being in a crate she will go in on command and settles down quickly once inside. She needs just a little more work on lead to be a truly well-behaved girl on walks, but seeing as she wants to please her people so much, it shouldn't take too long.
Please go to our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - and click on Adoption Process to find what you need to do if you are interested in adopting Trixie. There is a link to our adoption application from that page as well.
All potential adopters are expected to complete an application and provide pictures of their yard, patio, and/or balcony making sure we can see the fence line and/or railing. The application can be completed and submitted from our website - throwmeabonedogrescue.org - and is found under "Resources." Applications will be reviewed for approval before setting an appointment to come meet and possibly adopt the dog of interest. In addition, those who live in a rental property are expected to provide proof that they are allowed to have a dog where they live.
Each of our rescued dogs has been de-wormed, de-flea'd (with topical treatement if old enough, and by medicated bath if too young), spayed/neutered, microchipped, is up to date on shots, and has been fully examined by a veterinarian. In addition, each adopted dog comes with a starter baggie of the food it has been eating, a few treats for training purposes, a rawhide chew, a lead and collar, and a folder containing pertinent records.
