My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ozzy is one of those black pups that continually got passed over in the shelter. He is now learning his basic obedience and how to live in a home. He is very bright and picks up on things quickly but will need further training as he is still just a baby in many ways. He is very affectionate and playful and would do well as a child's companion. Ozzy is approximately 8 months old and currently weighs 38 lbs.

Here is what his foster family had to say:

Ozzy loves to play fetch and cuddle. He thinks he is a lapdog even though he is not the size of a lapdog. He loves attention. He has lots of puppy energy and will need further training but his personality is one of a kind. Anybody would be lucky to have him as a pet.

Ozzy is friendly with everyone and although we do not have children, I think he would do very well with kids that would enjoy playing with him. He loves everyone! He barks when someone knocks at the door then he greets them with a wagging tale and kisses. He is also great with other dogs and although he might need to be socialized with cats, he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. He loves to cuddle with anyone.

He is very quiet in the home and is not a barker. He begs for food and is always sniffing the floor for anything that may have fallen but so far no jumping on anything to take food at all. Ozzy knows sit and sometimes give his paw. He is housed trained - cries at the door when he wants to go out. He really doesn't like his crate at all. The longest he has been in there is an hour and he cried and barked the whole time. If someone was wanting to crate him they would need to train him in that regard as we didn't have the heart to put him in there. I would say he is leashed trained - he pulls a bit but he doesn't jump everywhere and he doesn't bite the leash. He runs to the door when it is opening but he hasn't tried to run out.

I think a home with children would be good for Ozzy and a family that was willing to give him lots of attention and love.

If you would like to make this pup part of your family, please submit an application for consideration.
