Toby's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Toby's Story...
Terrific Toby was found wandering the streets near Nashville in late October. He was picked up by Animal Control, but no one claimed him. He was kept in the shelter for 10 days and was so terrified he refused food. His time was up on Thanksgiving but ETBCR stepped up to save his life. Toby is a border collie/flat coat retriever mix.

Toby’s “doganality” screams therapy dog. He is a gentle boy who will lean into you for attention. He is wonderful with children and absolutely adores other dogs. Unfortunately, he is not a fan of cats. We have been working on leash walking and basic commands. He may have had an abusive previous owner because he is terrified of harsh words. He is still learning the joys of playing fetch but give him a squeaker toy and he is in heaven.

Since being in my home, he has gained 8 pounds but still has a few more to gain. He currently weighs 48 lbs, ideally he should be around 55 lbs. He is up to date on all shots, neutered, and microchipped. He is about 2 years old, house trained and does fine in a crate.

Even though we estimate his age to be about 2, he still acts like a puppy at times so an attentive adopter who will continue his training is recommended. He will require a fenced in yard but, as with all our dogs, must be primarily an indoor dog.
