My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

TJ is a young adult Shepherd mix, found on the beach. He is a handsome dog, a little shy at first, but exuberant to see people he has come to trust. He appears to be untrained, a little spastic on the leash, and we are working on "sit"; He's a diamond in the rough, ready for someone to rescue him and show him how good life can be! He was cruising along on the beach, and the next thing he knew, he was in the dog pound. He's still a little confused and traumatized by his new housing situation, but meets those he has come to trust with happy wags and wiggles. He's a little spastic on a leash, and we're working on "sit", he seems to be a quick study. He's scheduled to be neutered later this week. He's a handsome guy, a diamond in the "ruff", ready to be rescued into a stable and patient home, where he can see how good life can be!

Del Norte County Animal Control is located in rural Crescent City, CA (a tiny coastal city on the OR/CA border). We have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can’t come outside and play. Please consider making a difference in a dog’s life and adopt from our shelter!

We are open Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm.
We are closed Saturday and Sunday.
