Mr. Spot's Story...
Mr. Spot is a super-friendly, outgoing one year old boy. He is a sweet kitty who loves people. He wants lots of love and has lots to give in return. Mr. Spot enjoys being held, and is happy to have any attention you give him. While he was at the vet getting his “rescue care,” he enjoyed interacting with everyone, and played happily with the toys they gave him. Now he’s ready for a loving home where someone will play with him, give him new toys, and make him the center of their attention.

Mr. Spot was given up by a family in public housing in Washington, DC, and a neighbor there called a 4Paws volunteer because she knew Mr. Spot is the perfect housecat and would not survive outside. His first stop was the vet, where he was given a good check-up and found to be a healthy, friendly kitty. Now Mr. Spot is ready for a loving, responsible home with gentle, caring people.

Mr. Spot is neutered, tests negative for FIV and FeLV, and is vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP. He just needs to find his forever home, with new very best friends. He’s looking forward to playing with lots of new toys, new people, possibly even new cat friends, and receiving all the love and attention he deserves.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mr. Spot, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
