My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Aulden, Langley and Symon, known as the Auld Lang Syne Puppies. We named them that as we found them in a desperate situation just days before the New Year at an Atlanta high-kill shelter where they had been taken after their previous owner tossed them out on the street as they had contracted mange due to severe neglect and malnutrition.

They were immediately taken to our wonderful veterinarian in Roswell who assessed them and found not only were they suffering from demodectic (non-contagious) mange, but were also starting to show signs of upper respiratory infections, and then the worst happened….they broke with the dreaded Parvovirus a day or so later. It was their good fortune that they were in the hands of an experienced team of veterinary professionals as they were now fighting for their very fragile lives. After days and days of extremely worrying sickness, they finally started to come out of the darkness, and showed definite signs of improvement. Twelve days later, they were released and have been recovering in the home of a dedicated foster parent who has brought them into healthy puppyhood, administering all their prescribed medications and they are now healthy, bouncing babies. As you can see, they are not completely over the dreadful effects of mange, but they are showing fabulous new coats, and are playful, happy, bouncy little puppies that are dying to start their “real” lives as young dogs.

Aulden (grey) is the biggest. He was also the sickest of the three, and had lost the most hair, so still is quite a challenge for the fuzzy puppy contest, but his personality is so wonderful and charming and sweet. He’s a gentle loving boy who adores being held and cuddled and loved.

We really don’t know what their mix is, but we are guessing Chihuahua and possibly some terrier. They will be small dogs. Their age right now is estimated to be between 13 and 15 weeks, which means they were born around the middle to end of October, 2013. Although they are not quite ready yet, we are accepting applications for adoption, as they we know they will be so very popular. They will be neutered, have all their vaccinations, completely parasite-free, microchipped and bursting with a lifetime of love and devotion to give.

For additional information, please email info@youluckydogrescue.org. Our adoption fee is $250 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions.
