Nessie's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Nessie's Story...
Nessie is a super sweet shortie estimated to be 6 months old. She is trained to go on the puppy pads, and also goes outside. She is in the process of learning with the cold, cold temperatures. It's been a little tricky, but she's getting there! Inside she will only go on the pads. She is not crated at night, sleeps with us. She doesn't have accidents, and doesn't get up in the middle of the night. She is not crated while the humans are away. At the meet and greet she has done well with other dogs. She has not been around cats or kids. She loves to snuggle, is very gentle, and gives lots of kisses! She is a joy!

Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom & dad are!), we are guessing on breed and size when grown.
Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis.
If you are interested in meeting this dog or pup please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

We also have an adoptable Meet & Greet scheduled from noon to 2pm on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Dog Days, located at 350 University Avenue East, St. Paul, MN 55114.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nessie, a Minneapolis Dachshund/Corgi dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Corgi for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Dachshund/Corgi dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Corgi breeders who help with Dachshund/Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
