Sasha's Story...
Handsome Sasha came to us after her owner, sadly, had to go into long-term hospital care and could no longer provide care for him. He was clearly quite upset upon his arrival to our shelter and took some time to come out of his shell. Fortunately, with quiet attention and a lot of good treats, we have won this sweet boy over and he is now showing his affectionate, friendly side. In his previous home, Sasha lived a nice quiet life where he was able to go outdoors during the day for some fresh air. Ideally, we'd like to find him a similar style home where he could live out his remaining days with a loving family. This boy truly is a special cat, and we know that his adopters will be one of the luckiest families around. Spend some time with Sasha today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sasha, a Ithaca Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Ithaca, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Ithaca.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ithaca already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ithaca breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ithaca paves the way for another one to be saved.
