My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miles, 1-2 year old, male, Maine Coon Mix

One word to describe Miles is extraordinary. Start with the basics – Miles is a very smart, big, gorgeous, energetic, curious and loving boy. His markings are classic Maine Coon Brown Tabby. Beautiful patterns are all over his body and face of brown, gold, wheat and black. He has expressive green/yellow eyes, big feet, a fluffy tail and ear tufts galore. As I mentioned, he is quite large and may still be growing. We estimate his age to be between 1 ½ and 2 years old and about he’s about 13 pounds.

Miles is not only big in stature, but also in personality. I think the best way to describe him is really to compare him to a Golden Retriever puppy. He is exceptionally athletic and energetic. He loves attention, follows you around and will play with the simplest of toys for hours. He is a young, high-energy cat that likes to run around non-stop like a goofball trying to get your attention – up the stairs, down the stairs, around the house, up on the cat tree, and then hide under the table….. He is one of the most fun foster cats we have had over the last 7 years of fostering! He can even entertain himself for hours with just a few balls he bats around the floor.

Miles definitely has a sweet, soft side as well. He craves company, snuggles and spoons, purrs avidly and is a great companion. He really likes to please and play and we believe he’s got it all!
We think Miles would be fine for a couple or a family with kids and although we have not tested him with a dog, we think he would probably be OK with a medium to large dog who could put up with his antics. We have exposed him to several of our own cats with mixed results. He overwhelms most of our cats which are older, prissy Persians that do not appreciate the “game” of chase. It is possible that a young, confident, high energy cat that likes to play chase may tolerate and even play with him. He has never shown any hissing or malicious behavior, but he acts like a kitten and will get ‘right in your face’ from behind a curtain or ambush a cat from under the table, but most of all he likes to run.

Miles is a fantastic cat who should grow with you for many years to come and create joy, a LOT of laughs and stories along the way.
