My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Skye is a 1 ½ year old, female Boxer mix. She is wonderful, funny, VERY energetic (without being hyper), athletic, fast like the wind and light-footed. She is born to RUN and run some more. She needs someone who will be able to keep up with her and is definitely WRONG for someone who does not want to move much. Even though I am still a stranger to her, her recall (on the long line) is about 60% - she seems to know her name, and she reacts when I whistle for her. She sits on command once I get her attention. I have tested her a little bit on special behavior: On the 30-ft line, I have run with her, grabbed her and rolled on the ground with her. I have laid on top of her and allowed her to be on top of me. There wasn't the slightest sign of uneasiness, negativity or aggression. I have thrown myself on the ground face down, buried my face and cried like a child - she ran up to me, pushed her nose under my arms and licked my face. I have laid on my side, and she snuggled right up against me and relaxed as if we had known each other for years. I have also roughhoused with her, and her play was very, very gentle - she would use her mouth but not apply any kind of pressure. She is not afraid of water or traffic, and my guess is that she isn't really afraid of anything. I'd classify her as a VERY HIGH energy but emotionally and mentally balanced dog. This little girl deserves an A+ in every aspect. But to keep her that way, she cannot go to an inactive home. A jogger, a bicyclist, a skateboarder or roller skater would be perfect for her. She also loves to play ball. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. CONTACT US AT 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com
