Serina's Story...
Hello! My name is Serina, I am a 2 year old Grey and white not spayed female Domestic Short Hair. I was brought to the shelter by a nice animal control lady who had to take me from my family. I was really scared and sad at first but the staff here really helped me feel better about things. They told me that they would help me find a family that would love me and care for me forever. I really hope that the new family I find wants to snuggle and play because those are my 2 favorite things to do. I like to be held and would never say no to a kiss. I want to find a family who's house is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. A home that has big windows so I can lay in the sun no matter what time of year it is. Maybe I can even get lucky and find a family that will sneak me little bits of tuna and chicken when no one is looking! If you think that you might just be the family that I'm looking for with a home that I could call my own then please come see me so we can start our lives together as soon as possible!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Serina, a Murphysboro Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Murphysboro, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Murphysboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murphysboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murphysboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murphysboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
