My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Wirehaired Terrier/Terrier
Age: 8 months
Weight: 18 pounds
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Not Tested Yet
Good with kids: Yes
Energy Level: High-Medium

Meet Vlad. He is a cutie. He loves people but is not stressed when you leave. He loves a good head rub. He loves to cuddle and is very friendly with kids. He cuddles with his fosters young girls. He loves to run and play. Vlad likes squeaky toys and a thrown ball. He will also throw it for himself if there is no one to play with him. His little behind moves back and forth when he wags his cute nubby tail. He looks up at you with puppy dog eyes for guidance. He only used a kennel at night. He is learning to sit and lay down and will do it on command most times. He loves to snuggle and would make any family, be it a senior or multiple members a great companion. He is young and has great energy for kids.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
