Leila's Story...
Hello! My name is Leila. I am a 2 year old, female, orange and white, tabby cat. I am one of the most affectionate cats you will ever meet! I cannot get enough attention and love! While I am not the type of cat that likes to play with toys, I am a confident young cat who will follow you around your home while giving you headbutts and little licks. I came in with another cat and although it is not required, I would love to go a home with him. I could live with other cats and/or a mellow, cat-friendly dog. I could live with children who will not try to pick me up, as I will try to squiggle away and could accidently scratch them. If you are interested in meeting me, please stop by Whatcom Humane Society today. WHS is having a “12th Man” Adoption Special, so you get ½ off my adoption fee until February 2nd!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leila, a Bellingham Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
