Well, right now you are probably asking yourself,,,,,how could a canine as beautiful as myself be homeless?? And you would be correct in questioning this because not only am I gorgeous but EXTREMELY loving and playful!! My name is DARCY and I'm only about 9 months old. So, you know what that means,,,,I have LOTS and LOTS of playful energy. Right now I am being fostered with 6 other dogs and we are having a BLAST. As a matter of fact, I get soooo excited to play with other dogs that I have a tendency to be a bit TOO rambunctious for smaller dogs and cats. Don't misunderstand, I love em all but guess I don't realize my size and may inadvertently hurt them. So, the girls here seem to think that a "no cat" home and an "over 25 lb" dog size would be in the best of interest of all. I am doing great on my potty habits but since I am young I will need a family that provides me with consistency and structure. I walk pretty good on a leash, love car rides and am already crate trained!! Right now my foster family is working on my "greeting" habits, evidently you humans don't take kindly to me jumping on you upon arrival. There seem to be quite a few "human rules" I will have to learn but I welcome the formal education. The girls here at rescue think I would benefit from basic obedience classes since I'm so young and between me and you, it sounds like a good excuse to show off"!! I am very, very loving and cuddly, I love me some belly rubs and thrive on any positive human attention you want to dole out. I would do best with an active family who enjoys outdoor activities and then is willing to settle in for some snuggle activities! Take a few minutes to fill out that application, then get ready because your search is over my Friend!! love, darcy xoxoxo

Why Adoption is a Great Option

DARCY**9 MONTHS OLD!!, a Mentor English Shepherd/Bernese Mountain Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Shepherd/Bernese Mountain Dog for sale in Mentor, or seeking a English Shepherd/Bernese Mountain Dog dog from a breeder in Mentor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mentor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mentor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Shepherd/Bernese Mountain Dog breeders who help with English Shepherd/Bernese Mountain Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mentor paves the way for another one to be saved.
