My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a 5 year old neutered male German Shepherd/Greyhound mix. I weigh about 76 pounds. I may be a big guy, but I totally think I can fit in your lap! I'm a gentle giant for sure! I am sweet, submissive, and loving. I'm also really good with everybody I meet, people and dogs alike! I'm the total package! I was adopted from the shelter as a youngster...just 9 months old. I spent most of my life with that family. Then one day, about a year ago, I found myself at the shelter again. Someone had found me wandering the streets and brought me in. I was micro-chipped so the shelter was able to contact my owners to have them come pick me up. Thankfully, I only spent a day there. You'll never believe what happened though. A year later, I ended up at the shelter again. I think the shelter tried to contact my owners, but this time no one came. I guess my family decided they didn't want me anymore. I sat at the shelter for about 3 weeks when a volunteer told me that I was leaving there for good. I was a little scared because I had heard rumors about things that happen at the shelter. The volunteer assured me that it was a good thing that I was leaving. She said I was going to go stay at a place called CageFree while I wait for a new forever home. I can't tell you how relieved I was! It was one of the best days of my life!! I mostly spend my days hanging out with all my canine companions while my human friends do all the hard work of trying to find my new family. My friends here think I probably need a really secure yard since I keep ending up on the streets somehow. I'm not telling them how I get out, but they suspect I'm pretty good at escaping or my previous family was not that good at making sure the gate was closed. I'm not really big on being alone so, I would love a family that is home a lot, has another dog, or would be willing to take me to daycare. I'm a mature fella so I don't need a ton of exercise, but I would probably really enjoy walks around the neighborhood, the occasional trip to the dog park, or maybe even a game of tug-o-war here and there. Snuggling up on the couch to watch a good movie sounds great, too! Did I mention that I love to give kisses?!?! If you're into that kind of thing, I think we could be best friends! If you think I would make the perfect edition to your family, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree. I can't wait to find my forever home!!
