Meet Coco – she is 8 years old, weighs 22 pounds and is all black.
She was surrendered to SRC because she was recently diagnosed with diabetes. She is on a prescription diet food and daily insulin shots and has responded great to the treatment. She only takes 3 units of insulin twice a day!
She is thriving. Please don’t let her diabetes scare you – it is very manageable and Coco is an excellent patient!
Coco is an extremely sweet and loving dog. She was an only dog for the last 6+ years before coming to SRC. She gets along fine with the resident dogs in her foster home, but she doesn’t play much with them. She would rather hang out on her foster mom’s lap soaking up the love and playing an occasional game of tug-o-war. She would do best as an only dog – or maybe with one other dog in the home.
But NO CATS!! She is a cat chaser…and she is proud of it! The cats in her foster home know how to deal with her, but let’s just say she should not live with cats!
She is good with kids (she was raised with them), and completely potty trained.
Coco is spayed and up to date on all her vaccinations. She is heart worm negative and on preventative.
Coco is fostered by Nina in Indianapolis. Her adoption fee is only $250.00
