My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Jace
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier
Sex: Male-nt
Age: 3 years
Size: Medium/large
Coat-color: Brown with white markings
Coat-type: Single, short, thick, dense, and close-fitting
Group: Terrier - Companion
Energy Level: Moderately-high

Exceptional physical and mental characteristics make Pit Bull Terriers outstanding companions for responsible, active, and caring owners. Athletic, fun-loving, confident, and playful dogs, they are also devoted family companions well-known for their engaging personalities and genuine love of people.

Having these qualities in abundance, Jace is a stunningly handsome canine to boot. Being a terrier means he is an intelligent, courageous, and loyal dog who is attentive to humans, responsive to direction, a bit of a goofball, and quick to please when he knows what is expected of him, but it also means he can be strong-willed and stubborn at times, often voicing his opinion as if to argue about what he wants. Curious, comical, energetic, and resourceful as well, this outgoing and always happy canine boy will need a home prepared to meet his energy needs with plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation.

Jace is best suited for a home with a moderately-active to active lifestyle. A structured environment, sound leadership, and continued training and socialization is a must so as to ensure his continued success as a well-mannered and obedient canine companion and family member.

Because of Jace's very social disposition and extremely affectionate nature, his new family should also be on-board for the giving and receiving of lot's of hands-on affection as well as making sure he is included in daily family activities. Jace is a champ at snuggling and once settled into his new home he will quickly form deep bonds with his family. Although social and friendly with dogs he is familiar with and pretty tolerant of dogs in general, a meet-n-greet with any housemate dogs prior to adoption will be required.

Note: Monroe SPCA rescued Jace from the Taylor Animal Control where he was facing euthanasia simply because his "time was up." From the get-go he has shown himself to be an extremely affectionate, obedient, and well-mannered canine

Jace currently resides in a home with one of our foster volunteers, as well as children and other dogs who he gets along very well with. Jace has participated in basic training and socialization classes with Monroe SPCA. You can meet him at our regular adoption events and by pre-arrangement with approved Adoption Application.
