My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

These beautiful, playful little cats were trapped with their mother when they were several months old. It was assumed they were ferals and their ears were clipped in preparation for being released back outside. However, their mother quickly proved to be anything but and was soon adopted. It was decided to see if the kittens could be socialized as well.

Ashley is larger and more adventurous and outgoing. She needs time to warm up to a stranger, but she enjoys human interaction and is interested in just about everything. She is extremely playful and likes to play and cuddle with her sister. They still sleep together a lot. While, she is shy at first, she warms up quickly.

Aspen is more petite and does not like loud noise or commotion - unless, of course, she's causing it because everything is a toy to her. Where she used to rely on Ashley to take the lead, she has become much more outgoing on her own. She still enjoys her sister's company and they groom and chase each other all over the house. She climbs all over her foster and other people, likes to sleep beside them and sometimes on top of them, and frequently demands attention. But she can be exceptionally shy at first.

The two kittens love cat trees and climbing high. They also enjoy looking out windows where they can watch birds and squirrels. Their favorite toy is a tiny mouse on a metal string, but they love any string toy, chasing balls, toy mice and anything interactive.

Aspen will need more time than her sister to adapt to a new environment. Both kittens need to be confined to a room until they feel secure and comfortable. This could take a few days, but they respond to soft voices, food, and interactive play. They like to be around people and just like a little kid, everything goes in their mouths.

The best adopter for them would live in a quiet household. Older, gentle teens should be fine, but Aspen in particular is probably not a good fit for young children or a noisy, busy household.

They were born in September 2013.
