My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Caramel is easily the most well behaved foster we've ever had. She is loving and loveable. She felt comfortable in our environment immediately. She is happy and playful yet very easy going and chilled out. She is the talk of our neighbours as she has the cutest face that begs for pets from anyone who's eyes meet hers. Her tail is always wagging and could be a powerful source of natural energy if it was hooked up to some sort of generator :). Caramel is approximately 3 - 5 years old and currently weighs 55 lbs.

Here is what else her foster family had to say:

Caramel is amazing in the home; quiet, laid-back, loves to give kisses and is gentle in general and when accepting treats (no bouncing off the walls or hyper-energy here). In her up time she loves to play tug-of-war with you and her rope and is super happy if you throw her stuffed toy for her to retrieve. Outside on walks she is great too and is pretty easy on the leash with the exception of leaning forward (not so much pulling) in excitement at points which can require some strength to get her back to loose-leash position. This is why she would require an adult to walk her and show her some guidance and manners on how to properly meet and greet other dogs as she likes to pull toward them and that can make some dogs intimidated and create an awkward meeting.

She is pretty low shedding with a weekly brush. She is great on car rides, has a low-moderate energy level (as mentioned not hyper, but certainly loves being active when given the chance) and is so happy to crash after a 30 min walk or play. She is crate trained and goes in happily when we leave, but we think she would be fine free-roaming as we only crate her right now because of our other dog. She doesn't even counter surf or beg. She would be fine with another happy and calm dog as she stands up to our anxious/ bossy little guy and she doesn't much like his grumpiness.

She would also be just as happy being the only dog in the family. We don't have children but we've walked passed many and she's excited to get pets from people of all ages. She doesn't have any issues to work through, only general obedience and even in that she's darn amazing for not having previous training. She would love an open space or backyard to trot around in and smell the grassy smells, but 2 daily walks and play time would do just fine too.

Caramel is very interested in what her human is doing and would be very easy to train (she does instinctively come when called inside and already knows "sit"). We think she would do best in a home with children over 12 only because she can bowl you over with her cuddles and is pretty strong on walks if she is interested in heading somewhere you're not planning on going.

Caramel is a true gem and deserves an equally wonderful family to love and be loved by her. She would do great in basically any home with a family, couple or single that is willing to receive licks, make time for cuddles and walks, as well as offer some general obedience training. Her absolute favourite thing to do is go for a cruise outside to take in all the sights and smells that she wasn't previously afforded. She is also in heaven when she gets spontaneous pets, play or is told she's a "good girl" (it's hilarious to see her butt waggle when she knows she's made you happy, which is often...just look at that face!)
