Here is what else his foster family had to say:
I think he is somewhere between 8 months and a year. His attitude and size seem appropriate for the age range. He has a moderate energy level, sometimes he is bouncy and can't stand to sit still but mostly he is relaxed, content to be sniffing around the house or snoozing somewhere comfy.
He will pull towards someone to meet them on the street but not a lot of people have stopped to let me introduce him. Those that have are pleasantly surprised by his mature manners for his age. He has never growled at people. He has been very good around other dogs, he is gentle but playful and very curious. He wants everyone to be his friend, including our cat who has been rather hostile towards him, but it hasn't phased him one bit.
He is so good. For any dog coming from a shelter, never mind a puppy. He doesn't chew anything but his toys, he has never had an accident in the house, and he listens very quickly when we use "dominant voice". He will whine and paw at the door for a few minutes but he has never destroyed anything and we completely trust him to be alone in the house. He will spook at loud cars or sudden noises on the street but as long as we are close he calms down almost immediately. He loves to chew on his toys... We had to get him a more durable Kong toy because he ripped a rope toy and plastic toy and tennis ball apart. He's very happy with the new one and has never tried to substitute anything for it. He is very quiet at home. He has barked once when a bag was on the balcony making noise with the door open. We can hear people in our hallway quite loudly and he has never barked at them.
Logan is very smart. He knows sit, lie down, come, leave it, drop it and off. He has never had an accident in the house and is very good at letting us know when he needs to go out. He was kept in a kennel for the first few nights but he got sick one night and threw up and we haven't put him back in since. He is very well behaved when left out so we figured we'd leave it alone. He is normally very good on the leash. Sometimes he will get over excited and bolt ahead or lag behind, but for the most part he walks very well. He will try to follow you out the door when you are leaving but if you push him back he won't try to force his way through.
Logan is clearly intelligent but with that comes an attitude. He needs someone who is willing to keep a close eye on him so bad behaviours don't start cropping up. He is a wonderful, loving puppy who will be an amazing family pet one day with the right guidance. I think somewhere with older children would be great, he needs playmates but they should understand that he needs rules too. He will fit in with most families as long as they take the time to train him completely.
If you think Logan is a good fit for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
