My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This super cute little pup is Pepsi, a 7 month old Jack Russell and Pug cross, commonly called a Jug. From the moment she was picked up from a local pound she was so bubbly and her unique colouring of black with brown mixed in made us think of a glass of Pepsi, and so she was named. Pepsi was found as a stray and sadly, no one came to claim her. She is a loving and cuddly pup who just wants the love of the whole family, including the cat in her foster home.

It is obvious Pepsi lived in someone’s home and how she could end up as a stray is beyond comprehension. She was house trained when she came into her foster home and is fully crate trained. In her foster home she is being taught leash manners, basic obedience and her foster mom is trying to curb the jumping up on people. Pepsi is very motivated by food and will sit pretty for any treat. She is a very intelligent dog and continued obedience training will make her a wonderful pet for her forever home.

Pepsi would do well in a home with cats. Although she has not lived with another dog we believe she would do just fine in a home with other dogs. She also loves her 10 year old human foster brother but she may not be appropriate for a home with toddlers as she does like to jump. Pepsi loves going for walks and a couple moderate walks a day will keep this little pup happy. She has shown an interest in trying to chase after cars so she has to be leashed when out for a walk. A home with a fenced yard for her to run freely and safely in is a must. I can only imagine that she might have chased after a car and ended up lost and in the pound.

Pepsi loves to travel and taking her in the car is a dream. She cuddles up on her blanket, just happy and content to be with her foster family. Considering she is part Jack Russell she is not a big barker. She barks at new people but quiets quickly and continued socialization and training will help curb this behaviour. Once she meets someone she doesn't seem to bark at them the next time they visit.

Pepsi needs a family committed to furthering her training and socialization and make sure she gets exercised and loved every single day. She will miss you when you are away and love you when you return. Pepsi is a sweet heart of a dog and will make a loyal family companion to her new home. She needs a family who will give her lots of snuggles because at the end of the day she will be up on the couch cuddling with you. Pepsi is a super affectionate little dog that will be a perfect, playful friend to an active family looking for a companion for all of life’s adventures.
