My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

KenMarRescue.org orphans want to thank Michael and Alyssa (USA) for becoming sponsors to our orphans via our Guardian Angel program. It is because of the generous donation contributions from Michael and Alyssa and from individuals like YOU that we are able to continue our life-saving work. Thank you for helping to save Haven's life!

Meet Haven! She's a spayed, Maltese + Miniature Poodle, full grown little girl. She weighs 10 lbs and is 3 yrs.

Housebroken, adorable, hypo-allergenic type breed, she would ake a nice addition to any family.

Gets along with other dogs, enjoys car rides and walks well on leash.

More info on Haven:

Quiet, affectionate, good eater. since she recently gave birth and was a bag of bones when we rescued her, it appears that her tiny body gave her pups all the nutrients she had to the point that she started losing hair in patches.

She eats as much as she wants and has turned a corner health wise.

Stitches from spay surgery are out and incision is healed. Mammary glands starting to dry up. She still has a few bald spots but peach fuzz is starting to grow back.

She gets "Missing Link" powdered supplement in her food every day along with a finger tip of "Nutrical" gel in her food. Nutrical is a puppy vitamin supplement but the vet prescribed it to her since she was so emaciated. She is a happy pup, crate trained at night and not resource possessive with food or treats. Very grateful little girl.

She likes to troll the yard looking for escape routes and also is very agile and can easy jump on top of kennel crates where she likes to perch and sunbathe. She also uses her perching as a vantage point to see what's going on and who is going where. Very observant. Not aloof at all.

She likes to "puppy wrestle" with the other dogs and is very responsive and in-tune to her k9 playmates. She is obedient and eager to learn and please. She is food motivated and is beginning to respond to her name.

Haven is not a barker but will "chime in" when her other K9 siblings see the postman, etc.

Walks with a swagger in her step. Very cute. She is learning to "walk well on leash" but since she is very curious, tends to "dart" at things that catch her eye. Give her an inch and she'll take it so needs to be watched closely and monitored for positive/corrective reinforcement.

Loves everyone she meets, including the groomer.
