My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mr. Gibbs is a 6 year old, 12 pound, Dachshund/Corgi cross. This little bundle of love is losing his family and his home in just a few days due to foreclosure. He has no health issues and is micro-chipped, but does need an update on his vaccinations. Mr. Gibbs is ok with other dogs and older kids but is untested with cats. He LOVES car rides!

UPDATE: Mr. Gibbs is loving being loved. He is a real gentleman. He comes when called, and is overcoming initial discomfort with being relocated. He has been treated to cuddles in blankets, warm from the dryer; bully sticks for comforting chew; and duck and potato food topped off with pumpkin and yogurt. Awesome little dude.

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same sex in a home and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer no smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, all shots, wormer & flea protection, nails trimmed, the works. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, no exceptions as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give him a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
