OWEN-2's Story...
OWEN is a border collie/shepherd mix pup born on November 25. His mama is a German Shepherd mix found wandering in a remote rural area, and we've been told by the person who brought mama to the rescue that daddy looked like a border collie mix. Owen has a soft, silky, medium-length coat, with border collie markings. He is one of the smaller ones in the litter of seven, but holds his own well with the rest of his siblings. He is sweet, affectionate and loves a lap. He is quite smart, knows how to use the doggie door and has learned to ring the bell when he wants to go outside, so he has a good start on house-training. He is crate-trained for nighttime sleeping. Owen is affectionate, friendly and very playful. He has been de-wormed and has had two sets of puppy shots. This is a courtesy posting. This dog is not affiliated with P.S. I Love You! Animal Rescue but is fostered by another party. For more information, please contact Janel Miller at dogrefuge@gmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

OWEN-2, a Kittery Border Collie/German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Kittery, or seeking a Border Collie/German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Kittery.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kittery already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kittery breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Border Collie/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kittery paves the way for another one to be saved.
