I am already spayed, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Ginger's Story...
Born Again Pit Bull Rescue regularly works with the wonderful people at the Del Norte County Animal Control located out in rural Crescent City, CA (a tiny coastal city on the OR/CA border). They have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption viewing hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can’t come outside and play.

We want you to see some really great dogs that they have in their care--it's just a 5-hour drive from Portland to adopt your new BFF! *Please note that occasionally there are volunteers who can assist with transporting the dog from the shelter to Grants Pass/Eugene/Salem/Portland *

Del Norte County Animal Control is located in Crescent City, CA. They are open Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.

Address: 2650 Washington Blvd - Crescent City, CA 95531

Ginger is a fun loving girl looking for a super fun family to spend her life with! Ginger is a young female pit bull type dog mix who's currently located at the Del Norte County Animal Shelter in Crescent City, California.

Ginger was found as a stray running around town, and sadly no one ever came to the shelter looking for her, but lucky for Ginger, she now has the chance to find a loving forever family who will never let her out of their sights again! Ginger is an absolutely sweet as can be girl, she has never met a person that she does not LOVE! She's always happy and always ready to love on some people, stranger or not. She is constantly full of wiggles and wags.

Ginger will still need some training, it doesn't seem like she has had much in the past. But she is such a happy girl that some reward based training will go a long way with this happy girl. Ginger would prefer a home without cats or any other small animals such as chickens, because Ginger does find it exciting to chase them! Ginger was found with another dog while running around town, and with proper introductions, may do fine with a canine companion in her new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ginger, a Portland American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
