I am already spayed and up to date with shots.

Killian's Story...
Killian was named after the Irish Red lager because of her beautiful amber coat. This friendly gal is shy at first but can be easily won over with treats. A perfect day for Killian includes a nice walk, a one sided game of fetch (don't expect her to bring the ball back!), followed by a nap at your feet.
Please call the shelter 516-944-8220 during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 9AM-4PM; Sat. 10-4PM) for more information about Killian, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Please go to www.theshelterconnection.com for more information about and directions to the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Killian, a Port Washington Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Port Washington, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Port Washington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Washington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Washington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Washington paves the way for another one to be saved.
