Manfred's Story...
UPDATE: Manfred has been adopted by his foster mom! He will now start his new journey with lots of love!

Hi There! My name is now Manfred, my foster mom named me this week! Here is my story I was found wandering in Quebec and was picked up by the pound. This pound is a high-kill shelter that only gives us dogs a few days to be claimed....if you are lucky a rescue that works for the pound will assess us and find a rescue to take us so we don't end up in the gas chamber. I was saved thanks to Chow Rescue Ontario. I made the long journey here in a snow storm stayed with a couple chow foster parents until I arrived at my permanent foster, and will soon be on the search for my forever home.

Don't mined my hair do I was shaved when the shelter found me. I am a young guy about 1 to 2 years of age, shy but once I warm up I enjoy your company....The foster mom at the first home I stayed at after I toured her house I was giving her all kinds of kisses. Everyone that met me so far has loved me!!! I love to go for car rides and get along with other dogs, that are not always in my face.

I will be visiting the vet soon to get my shots and neutered before I can leave to my new forever home.At this time Chow Rescue is not sure if I like kids or cats but will be testing me while I am at the foster home.

If you are interested in me joining your home please contact Chow Rescue Ontario to complete and application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Manfred, a Tillsonburg Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow for sale in Tillsonburg, or seeking a Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Tillsonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tillsonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tillsonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow breeders who help with Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tillsonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
