My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

June 2014: Mae is doing so great, she is having fun playing with all the other dogs in her foster placement, and she LOVES meeting new people. She likes to jump up to say hi, so she needs some more work on this. She is great with everyone, and has been fine with all the cats and dogs she has met. Mae can't wait to find her forever family!

April 2014 update: Mae is in Maine and doing great with the other dogs in her foster placement (which also happens to be a doggy day care). She has had some difficulty with young children and is a little too nervous to have them in her life right now. She is shy at first in new situations but blossoms with love and affection. She has a lot of "shepherd-y" behaviors, being very loyal to a new person she bonds with, and a little stubborn. She likes to jump on you to greet you so a great training program would work well to exercise her body and her smart brain!

March 2014 update: Mae weighs about 40 pounds. She is at a doggie day care and has learned to "do her business" when she goes outside. The staff says she is very loving and enjoys being petted and cuddled. Mae is a bit shy at first, but blossoms with attention and affection. She is very playful with the other dogs there and is doing great. Mae was very well behaved at the veterinarian's office.

Mae is a gentle and very sweet dog who is so loving and just wants to please people. She is a pretty Shepherd mix and is two years old. Mae loves people of all ages and also gets along with other dogs. She is an enthusiastic daily walking companion and has so much fun in our southern partner's play yard, where they are teaching her to play fetch. Most of all, Mae enjoys being close by your side for quality cuddle time. She is very affectionate and is going to be a wonderful part of the family lucky enough to take her home. Mae is a bright dog who should do well with training.

Mae was brought to their shelter because her family did not want her anymore. Mae is at doggy daycare and has settled right in. She was friendly to the cats we tested her with and did not try to chase them. Mae is very sweet, playful and friendly.

To apply to adopt this dog, please visit our web site to access our application and learn more about adoption through Lucky Pup Rescue, www.luckypuprescue.org, or request an application via email, luckypuprescue@yahoo.com.

Please note, we do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.

Thank you for considering rescue!
