Artemis is a 4 year old chiweenie boy. He is super sweet, very spunky, and as loyal as can be - so easy to love! Arty is a first rate snuggler and loves to give you delicate little kisses. Arty also loves spending time in the backyard showing the neighborhood squirrels how fierce he is and chewing up all the sweet gum balls. When he's inside, his first choice spot is in your lap, but he's equally happy spending time at the window watching for critters and in his doggy bed in front of the heater vent (in the winter of course!). He is a little wary when introduced to new people (men in particular), but with patience and treats he makes fast friends!

If you are interested in adopting Artemis, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Artemis 's adoption fee is $250. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Artemis will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.

About DREAM Dachshund Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We envision a time when every dachshund in Georgia has a loving home for its entire life. We believe that the welfare of our companion animals is an indication of the health of our society. We see the current welfare of our companion animals as a disease. To treat the symptoms of this disease, we rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dachshunds in need. To treat the causes of this disease, we educate the public on compassionate dog guardianship of any breed. We want to have a deep, direct impact in a limited geographic area, rather than a small impact in a large geographic area.
