My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** There is an application process and a $375 adoption fee. Please fill out the CTHDR Adoption Application. **

Moose is a laid back kind of guy and would love to take walks and watch TV with his people. He is a mature 2 year old Rottie mix who came into rescue as a stray. His foster home just can't imagine why nobody went looking for this loveable guy. Obviously someone took a lot of time to teach him to come quickly when called, sit before his food bowl and go to his crate willingly.
He came into rescue fully house trained, crate trained and taking a treat ever so gently with just his lips. Moose loves to ride in the car, chase a tennis ball and he has the cutest bounce when his people come home from work. Moose gets along well with cats although he may give half-hearted chase if a cat offers to run, but what self respecting dog wouldn't?
Moose likes female dogs and may get along with a non-threatening male dog. He wants to play with his foster home's 11 month old male Border Collie pup. He is walking well on leash, but may need to be reminded not to pull at times. He would be a great candidate to do basic obedience or even some competition-he just loves to please. Moose does have an intimidating alert bark, but wags his tail enthusiastically when told a friend is coming into the room. At the veterinarian's office he was a huge hit and behaved himself so well for his vaccinations. Moose was treated successfully for heartworm and is current on vaccinations, has been neutered and has been on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
