Penelope's Story...
Penelope is a fun-loving, energetic, and happy lab mix that was part of the Mission Viejo Animal Services rescue program. She was transferred to our facility from an overly crowded shelter where her time was limited. Penenlope walks well on leash and enjoys going for long walks here at the shelter. If you're in the market for a new walking, running, or hiking partner Penelope may be the girl for you! She would prefer an active family that will make her a part of all the family activities and vacations. Penelope is very smart and is already learning sit and down but would love to show off all her skills to her new family in training classes. She is still very puppy-like and will need to be taught proper manners. Penelope is very sweet and wants nothing more than to be by you soaking up all the attention. She will go to her new home spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penelope, a Mission Viejo Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Mission Viejo, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Mission Viejo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mission Viejo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mission Viejo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mission Viejo paves the way for another one to be saved.
