Athena-Adopted!'s Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Athena-Adopted!'s Story...
Athena was surrendered in January in an emaciated condition weighing only 13 pounds at an estimated 6 months of age. She lacked socialization and manners as it was clear she must have been left alone most of the time with not much attention. She likes to play with other dogs and bonds with them quickly but takes longer to warm up to new people. She does fine with her foster mom and is generally more skiddish of men. Now she is back to a healthy weight and has become a little more outgoing with continued socialization. Athena is a work in progress and needs someone understanding of her background. A home with another playful dog would be best. Birth date 7/13/13

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Athena-Adopted!, a Detroit American Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer for sale in Detroit, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer dog from a breeder in Detroit.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Detroit already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Detroit breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Detroit paves the way for another one to be saved.
