Jack's Story...
Jack (real name) is a 9 year old recently neutered male Poodle. He Jack is a sad story as he has been mistreated and neglected. This little guy does not hold a grudge though and is just about the sweetest and most gentle dog you will ever meet. Jack was shaved down to his skin, so looks a little silly, but his hair is slowly growing back. Once it grows enough to visit a groomer he will be a real looker. Jack is very slow and laid back, and just wants a home where he can lay in or close to your lap and just hang out. Jack is unstable in his rear-end, but it doesn't seem to bother him. He just catches his balance and continues on his way. Jack gets along with other dogs and ignores cats. Because of his special needs, he will need to go to a home without small children or larger dogs. Jack is currently in a foster home, so if you are interested in giving this very special boy a new home, please call the Rescue and arrange time for a meet and greet.

If you want to apply for Jack click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jack, a Meridian Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
