Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Wellington is a striking 3 year old purebred Newfoundland boy that is losing his home due to a divorce. The man who owns him says he is the sweetest dog he has ever had but he cannot take him to his new smaller place when he moves in March. Wellington has not had inside house privileges in the past but we feel sure he could learn them very fast. He is living with another dog in a nice big backyard and we want to change his future by offering him a warm forever home and family that he can live inside with. If you know the breed, there are many things that you must consider in order to be a happy and informed family for Wellington. First, grooming and combing those long luxurious locks might take a little time and money. Second, he weighs a lot and therefore, third, he eats a lot. The food bill must not be a problem in order to keep a Newfie well fed. Fourth, he might drool a little. Get your paper towels ready for some drive by wipes! Fifth, get ready for a gentle giant to love you and be your BIGGEST NEW BEST FRIEND! Sixth, when adopting this huge giant dog child, please remember that you should not put him through a College SAT test. He will flunk. He is known for his good looks and affection…not his brains. Seventh, be ready to put him on joint supplements now so that later in life he will have better hips and a longer time to spend free of hip pain or arthritis. Eighth, please weigh more than Wellington does. Owners needs to be able to assist him with loading up in cars and later in life perhaps a few heave hooos when his back legs are not as young as they used to be. Wellington is a dream dog that needs to be given the chance at a comfy life inside with a family. We cannot say that housetraining will be fast or slow…just needs to be done and patience will be a virtue. Wellington is young and must be sad to be losing his home, but CCR has promised to find him a terrific new home with a family to love him. We will be picky and ask that experience with the large breeds be in your history as a dog owner. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. CONTACT US AT 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com
