Gibbs looked every bit the stray as he came into a very high-kill shelter in Kansas. It was possible that he had never had a haircut or a bath in his entire 1-year life. Vinnie represents the sad opportunism that is so present in breeding what is looked at as designer breeds. They're treated so poorly and disrespectfully…and then disposed of when their perceived use is over. But…under all that hair and matts is a gorgeous guy with the sweetest soul. He deserves a great life every bit as much as any other living being…he has a wonderful disposition and through it all, still has the desire to love and be loved...he's never one to turn down a loving lap or a friendly canine companion. He tries so hard to show that he's worthy of a permanent family to adore and respect him. His little tail wags hesitantly when he sees a possibility for a pat or any loving gesture. He would be overjoyed if he got attention…it would bring a light to those sad eyes! Farfel's is searching for that special family for this exceptional Maltese (he may have a bit of another breed in there..simply because he's large at 12 lbs) We are hoping for a spa day for Gibbs before he arrives...we'd like his hair cut.. enabling it to grow back in soft, silky waves. If that doesn't occur, we'd be happy for our Farfel's groomer to make him gorgeous after his arrival. Then you will be able to see the soft glow in those kind eyes that speak of a gentle soul. We're searching for a family that wants to spend time with a furry best friend. He would learn from the gentle guidance and time put in by people who love him…he will return that devotion a million times over once he understands that he can trust. We feel that Gibbs would enjoy a retired couple or individual or a family with older children who will be gentle and loving toward Gibbs. It's a new path that this sensitive guy is pursuing…he'll be so successful with the knowledge that he is loved and chosen to be a member of a very special family. Gibbs is a non-shedding guy and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to bring out the beauty and good health of his amazing coat.
Gibbs will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 2/8. Applications and inquiries are currently being accepted for this exceptional companion.
