Emily's Story...
Hi, my name is Emily and I was surrendered to the shelter because my owner was no longer able to take care of me. I've been at the shelter for a while now and I'm sure getting sad and lonely. I don't know understand why no one wants me. I'm almost 1 year old (my birthday is Feb 18th) and I'm 50lbs. I'm a very happy and playful girl! I really like to play fetch! I'm already housetrained, I know how to sit and walk on a leash! I'm said to be good with kids and other dogs but I haven't met any cats yet. I'm up to date on my vaccinations but as part of a commitment to reducing pet overpopulation, I will be adopted out on a spay contract which includes a deposit that will be refunded when you provide proof that I have been altered, which MUST be done within 30 days of my adoption! Oh, if you'd like to see a few more pictures of me go here... Emily Pictures and click on my album! If you are interested in providing a loving responsible forever home for me, please contact the shelter SOON and don't forget to include my ID number!

ALL ANIMALS MUST BE ALTERED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF ADOPTION OR BY SIX MONTHS OF AGE!!!

Act quickly to adopt Emily. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emily, a Ladysmith Labrador Retriever/Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Greyhound for sale in Ladysmith, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Greyhound dog from a breeder in Ladysmith.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ladysmith already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ladysmith breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Greyhound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ladysmith paves the way for another one to be saved.
