My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pat is a nice little dog. She can be a bit timid at first, but dont let that fool you she quickly comes out of her shell. She enjoys people and likes other dogs too! Pat is an interesting dog, since she is a hermaphrodite.

Pat is currently in our prison dog training program where she is receiving one-on-one training by an inmate that has been taught positive reinforcement dog training. Pat is learning Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Heel, Polite Greetings, Housetraining, and some tricks. She is due to return to our shelter on Friday March 7th. Anyone interested in adopting Pat should fill out an adoption application to reserve their space in line to adopt her. Adopters will receive an Adopter Guide outlining the training the dog has received and how to continue working with the dog. Here is your chance to adopt a well-trained dog from a shelter!

All dogs that haven't been previously fixed will be spayed or neutered before going home. Dogs receive rabies, initial DHLPP & bordetella vaccinations, are tested for heartworm, and wormed. They have been temperament tested and also microchipped. Adoption fee is $100, plus adopters must purchase a Lucas County dog license for $25. We add new adoptable dogs on a regular basis, so stop by during regular hours and see who's there. Also be sure to like our facebook page! Lucas County Canine Care & Control. Thanks for considering a shelter dog!
