~ ADOPTION PENDING ~

You may meet and apply to adopt Leona at our ADOPTION EVENT on SATURDAY, MARCH 29th from 12 Noon - 3:00 at PETCO in IRVINE. adoptpetmatch@gmail.com

Leona is a female Shih Tzu approximately 2 years in age. She has beautiful gray, tan and white coloring and her coat is non-shedding. Leona has been professionally groomed and currently has a "lion cut" due to severe matting mostly along her back end. Her fur is very elegant, long, glorious, wavy and thick. She is a stocky 15 pounds full grown. Leona is a beautiful young dog, gentle, quiet, and very well-mannered. She is feminine in every way and loves attention although she is respectful of your space and will wait until you ask her to come over. Leona is mellow, friendly and easy-going. She warms up quickly and will follow her favorite people around the house. She is housetrained and is excellent inside the home and truly delightful company. Leona has not had an easy life so far, being brought in stray to a very high-volume/high-kill shelter in a highly neglected state. She is so happy to have been rescued and loves to be clean. She is a neat and tidy dog and deserves to be a pampered princess. Leona likes to play with other dogs and is great with cats. She is also playful with toys and loves to play with the tennis ball. When she's exhausted from play, she lays down and rolls over for a belly rub. It's adorable! She also enjoys to just hang out and be cozy. Leona is very healthy and looking for her new forever home today!

Leona’s adoption donation is $400 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). She has been SPAYED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is her collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of her records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

Leona is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteers, Lynda, Eric and Lisa and is ready for her forever home.

You may meet and apply to adopt Leona at our ADOPTION EVENT on SATURDAY, MARCH 29th from 12 Noon - 3:00 at PETCO in IRVINE located at 15333 Culver Dr., Irvine, CA 92604. adoptpetmatch@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LEONA, a Newport Beach Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Newport Beach, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Newport Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
