Roscoe came to us after being reported wandering around in the fields and picked up as a stray by the county. Based on his condition and lack of training we can only assume that Roscoe was an outside dog, but he has quickly adapted to staying inside and making himself at home. He is a sweet pup at just over a year old and is very smart and learning so quickly. He is working on house manners and basic commands. He knows how to sit, especially when he sees a treat, and he is getting better every day with shake and lay down. Roscoe doesn't like to sit still for a long period of time, so stay has proven to be a challenge for him.
Roscoe enjoys cuddling with you on the couch or just laying on the floor next to you so he knows when it’s time to get up and play. Break out an orange and he won’t leave your side. His foster mom first caught him playing with one as a ball, but soon turned into this being his favorite “snack”. His Kong filled with a treat or peanut butter is his next favorite plus it gives him some good quality down time.
Roscoe hasn’t met a person that he doesn’t like. Roscoe has not been around small children while in foster care so we would suggest only older children as Roscoe is very active and may knock down toddlers in his excitement to play. He has also learned that going for a ride is actually fun and who knows where it will take him or who he will meet.
Roscoe is neutered, current on vaccinations and micro chipped. Roscoe is being fostered in Central Illinois and is now ready to find his perfect home!
