My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Paisley first came to HBHR over a year ago. She was totally unsocialized and frightened of everything! She found a family that fell in love with her and with patience turned her into a happy little girl. Unfortunately, Paisley lost her family due to the owner's health problems and is now looking for a new home. Paisley is a 3 year old girl who lost her girlish figure and is currently a chunky 27 pounds on a 13 inch frame. With continued diet and exercise, she should be back down to her ideal 20 pounds again.

Paisley has great house manners and never needs to be kenneled. She uses a dog door without problems and though her previous family reported that she didn’t like to go out in the rain, she has been running in and out of her foster home when it rains. She does come up each time to be toweled off, so it may be the attention she likes! Paisley is an easy going girl when playing with her foster siblings. If a dog too aggressive during play, she walks away, but holds her own in a loud game of tug of war. She loves to win and will take a victory lap around the house with her won treasure!

Paisley is still shy when meeting new people, but she no longer runs and hides from strangers. She will sit quietly and observe their interactions with the other beagles. Paisley enjoys a good cuddle, but is rarely demanding. She will wait her turn for lap time, but jumps right in when there is an opening. Paisley is as sweet and loving as you could hope for. She will sleep through the night on her dog bed, but does like the occasional night on the big bed! Paisley will do best with a family with kids to play with and another canine buddy to hang out with. She does have a loud bay when someone is walking by her home, so may not work in an apartment.
