Vannessa's Story...
AVAILABLE 12-27-13 On Christmas Eve poor Vanessa was brought to the Shelter, because her owner could no longer take care of her. Vanessa is a silky black beauty who is 15 months old. She's done well with other cats since her arrival at the Shelter, so would probably be fine with other cats in the household (as long as they are okay with her). Vanessa has now been spayed and has received all of her vaccinations. She has even been microchipped. Vanessa dreams of a home where she will be loved and cared for many Christmas Eves to come. Please come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City and make Vanessa's dream come true.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vannessa, a Elizabeth City Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
