Dorothy's Story...
If you're looking for a sweet, super calm dog, you found her.

This is Dorothy the senior walker hound. She is 7+ years old (probably a tad older) and enjoys calmly greeting people, being petted and scratched on the back, laying in front of the fireplace, leaning on you, looking thoughtfully into your eyes, eating, and sleeping. Perhaps most of all, sleeping.

She is a big sweetheart (she is a large dog) and would be perfect if you're looking for a loving companion who won't eat up your house and who won't cause many problems. She does great with other dogs and is cat friendly as well. Dorothy still has a lot of life left to live and can't wait to find the right family with the right bed to sleep on. Her adoption fee is $50 and she comes spayed, up-to-date on shots, de-flead, and de-wormed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dorothy, a Groveland Treeing Walker Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Treeing Walker Coonhound for sale in Groveland, or seeking a Treeing Walker Coonhound dog from a breeder in Groveland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Groveland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Groveland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Treeing Walker Coonhound breeders who help with Treeing Walker Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Groveland paves the way for another one to be saved.
